The Register is running a story about Southamption Uni going open access. I know we’re doing a similar thing. In the mean time, self-archiving is the best I can do.
Southampton have released the EPrints software that they use under a GNU. It arose from a JISC funded project called TARDIS. The mailing list is well worth a browse.
